With 300,000 mirrors, this is the world’s largest thermal solar plant, under construction in the Mojave desert. Named Ivanpah, the plant will have a capacity of 377 megawatts, which is enough energy to power 140,000 houses. It's hoped that Ivanpah will be operational some time this year.
